The Daruma featured in this delicate necklace is a Japanese charm that will help you achieve your goals. Rather than grant wishes it reminds you that you have to work for the fulfilment of your dreams. This little one will remind you of this as it follows you around wherever you go. The writing on the back of the pendant says “ganbatte” which translates to “Do your best”

The pendant measures roughly 14mm/0.55“ in diameter and comes with a fine box chain. The necklace is wrapped in a randomly chosen handmade origami envelope together with an instruction.

My version closely draws from the original Japanese design. Its expression is determined, as it focusses on the goal, the eyebrows resemble cranes and the beard tortoiseshells, both symbols of longevity.

The sculpt was originally created from Polymer clay which has then been sent off to be cast in brass. Please note that although it is cast, there will be slight variations as the liver of sulphur looks different on each piece.
